About the School of Circularity

We are a student-led non-profit organization with the mission to educate, connect, and empower students from all backgrounds to make our economy circular.

Therefore, we are raising awareness about and educating on the circular economy through educational workshops, seminars, and events. We are facilitating networking opportunities with organizations, industries, and academia involved in circular economy initiatives. Furthermore, we are empowering students to develop innovative solutions and projects in the circular economy space.

We started as a student club and are now an officially registered, student-led club. We are on our way to professionalize even more and become a non-profit learning accelerator in circular education.

The Events Department is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing events that align with our mission and provide valuable networking and learning opportunities, such as workshops, networking sessions, and guest lectures. We also play a key role in shaping how the School of Circularity is perceived—both internally and externally—by creating meaningful experiences for our members and the broader community.

  • Event Planning & Execution: Organizing in-person and online events, ensuring smooth logistics and high-quality experiences.
  • Strategic Positioning: Strengthening SoC’s presence in the Munich circular economy ecosystem.
  • Collaboration & Coordination: Working with other departments (e.g., Partnerships, Marketing) to maximize event impact.
  • Community Building: Designing welcoming and inspiring activities and a connected student-driven environment.
  • Operational Support: Managing event schedules, booking venues, and handling logistics.

Head of Events

As Head of Events, you will lead the department’s efforts in organizing and executing high-quality events that position SoC as a thought leader in the circular economy space. You will be responsible for planning event strategies, coordinating logistics, and ensuring smooth execution.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and oversee the annual event calendar, ensuring alignment with SoC’s mission.

• Plan and execute key events, including workshops, organization and company visits, networking sessions, and recruitment activities.

• Coordinate with other departments and external partners to enhance event impact.

• Manage event logistics, including venue booking, guest speakers, and schedules.

• Continuously improve event formats based on feedback and participation.

Events Team Member

As an Events Team Member, you will support the department by assisting in event planning, logistics, and execution. You will gain hands-on experience in organizing impactful events and fostering community engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and executing events, from brainstorming ideas to managing logistics.

• Help coordinate event details, such as venue booking, speaker outreach, and materials preparation.

• Support outreach efforts, helping to connect with industry professionals, speakers, and collaborators.

• Collaborate with the Marketing team to promote events and boost attendance.

• Support the setup and on-the-day execution of events.

Who should apply?

Students who enjoy organizing, coordinating, and bringing people together and want to gain experience in event management.

We appreciate dedication but also understand academic commitments. The expected time investment is:

Head of Events: ~5-7 hours per week, including leadership responsibilities.

Events Team Member: ~3-5 hours per week, depending on tasks.
